Happy Easter

So we keep plugging along.  Oma came down for Easter and it was her first time seeing the construction of her new home.  It was so much fun just to take her in the back and have her see what was going on.  As anyone who knows Oma would expect she had just a few questions.

Here is a shot in front of the retaining wall.  A facing will go on this and the concrete will be poured in the middle.  The boards on the floor are the panels which will make the other side of the wall.

Here is a shot behind the wall.  You can walk back there.  Once the wall is poured we will fill back there with the dirt in the pile, tamping it down every 2 feet.

On Saturday Casey and Oma went out shopping in the electric car.  Too cute the two of them buzzing away.  A couple hours later they were back and exhausted.  They had picked flooring, cabinets, and who knows what else.

Of course right in the middle of our construction we had to have our annual Easter Egg coloring and hunt.  The guys from Sione concrete cleaned up all the dirt across the patio and side of the house.  With that and a little broom action we were ready to go.

It is an understatement to say that the dirt pile in the back yard is a kid magnet.  We were also very lucky as the rain held off and we had a wonderful day.

Construction fencing, no problem.  A little teamwork and off we go.

And of course there were eggs in the backhoe.
